My Girl

So this is guaranteed to be the easiest blog I ever have to type, not because it’s the end of 2024 and we get a new start etc etc but because tomorrow is my girls 6th birthday and I couldn’t think of a better way of starting the year than talking about her.

Indie Silva Coram, the single greatest achievement of my/our entire life and absolute shining star in the midst of let’s face it, a shitter of a year. Sometimes I wonder how I can even face the next day let alone tackle a seemingly never ending adulting list that forms the basis of life these days. But forget me and our gripes with the world and try and imagine Indies world for the last 6 years. From her first few days struggling in Macclesfield hospital, to covid life as a toddler and the inability to interact with other kids to then having to deal with well you know. I guess for the most part she never knew any different, but still she’s had so much to deal with in her short life that you wouldn’t wish on anyone.

“Kids are resilient though”

I swear down, I bloody hate this statement, and I’ve used it plenty of times myself (don’t feel bad if you’ve said this to me but you’ve been warned for next time) both relating to Inds and to others. I’ve just heard it too many times and to be honest it infuriates me that they have to be resilient, fucking life!

Anyway enough of the grumpy old man chat and back to my big 6 year old! This blog is my way of letting the world know early what it will come to know one day anyway, she’s an absolute rockstar (maybe not her singing just yet but she always gives 110%)! Every single day she’s an bundle of joy/energy and makes my life as a parent so much easier. She absolutely loves school and is looking forward to her birthday party on Friday with 45 (yes 45) kids in attendance, it’s testament to how many friends she has in school and her clubs (Thanks Pops for helping towards the bill though). She started Swimming in September and has already moved up a couple of groups but it’s gymnastics which she really loves (Thankyou Charlotte/Lyndsay and all the coaches at CC Gymnastics) and has been perfecting her moves on the gym bar which she got for Christmas and is forever doing cartwheels to entertain the masses wherever she goes.

Anyway, i could talk forever about how amazing shes doing and what a little ray of sunshine she is but she’s been up 3 times already thinking it’s her birthday and is ready to open her presents and its not even 10pm!

Happy New Year guys and Happy 6th Birthday my beautiful girl.
